Adjacent to Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers a large area of short-grass plains as well as a range of large ancient volcanoes and the Ngorongoro Highlands. Part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the famous Ngorongoro Crater, also referred to as the “Eight Wonder of the World”. It is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and harbors one of the densest large mammal populations found anywhere in Africa.
